Mayor de Blasio and porn star Robin Byrd belong to the same club

Politics really does make strange bedfellows.
On his financial disclosure forms released today by the city's Conflicts of Interest Board, Mayor de Blasio revealed he's a board member at the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club - an honor that has him serving alongside perma-tan porn star Robin Byrd.
De Blasio and Byrd - famous for her long-running raunchy late night cable show - are both on the influential LGBT club's "Board of Governors."
Both have honorary titles that involve no actual duties.
But there are a few perks, including a guest of honor spot at the 10-year old club's famous holiday bash.
It was at that "fabulous" party that the two crossed paths, according to Byrd.
"I chatted with him," she said. "I chatted with a lot of members."
She couldn't remember what they'd talked about, but said it definitely wasn't about politics.
"Even though I'm in the [Owles] club, I like to stay out of politics," said Byrd. "My message is always have safe sex, have a loved one. If you don't have a loved one, you always have me."

Despite her aversion to politics, Byrd - who just released a song on iTunes called "Touch Me" - said she did support de Blasio during the City Hall campaign last year.
"Isn't it 'we the people, for the people?' And isn't he closest to we the people?" she said rhetorically.
Other members of the Jim Owles club - named after the militant gay rights pioneer - include singer Lance Bass, Controller Scott Stringer, and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, according to its website.
The club's president Allen Roskoff was a vocal critic of Christine Quinn, and documentary filmmaker Danny Moss - the brains behind the prolific "Defeat Chris Quinn" Facebook and Twitter pages - is also a high-ranking member.
Meanwhile, de Blasio's conflict of interest forms - which all city officials must fill out - also revealed that his mortgage has gone up.
According to the 2013 disclosure, which is the most recent available, de Blasio's owes "$500,000 or more" on his mortgage to Wells Fargo. On the 2012 form, he owed between $250,000 and $499,999.99.
A spokeswoman said that he refinanced the terms of his agreement.
