YONKERS - The Liberal Democratic Club and about 100 New Yorkers lit candles and rallied to get Gov. Andrew Cuomo's attention at his Mount Kisco home Saturday.
The club will be backing Cuomo's opponent, Fordham Law Professor Zephyr Teachout, this Tuesday in the primaries. Protesters say they hope their pre-election rally sends a message to voters.
Actors from "Law & Order" and "Orange Is the New Black" also joined the cause, hoping their presence will make a difference.
Cuomo is one of the first governors in years not to grant clemency to any of the 55,000 men and women imprisoned in New York State, except for three men who committed minor crimes years ago.
News 12 reached out to Gov. Cuomo's office, but it did not want to comment.
While pundits are not giving Teachout much of a chance, she is predicting a win with her running mate Tim Wu.
