WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A demonstration and candlelight vigil has been planned near the New Castle home of Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
The demonstration is being held by the Jim Owles Democratic Club, which is based in Manhattan, and which is urging Manhattan residents to travel to Westchester for the demonstration. The group said it is protesting its claim that Cuomo has not granted clemency to anyone in the New York State Prison System during his tenure.
New Castle Police are advising motorists that traffic and parking is expected to be affected starting around 7 p.m. and lasting until 11 p.m.
The demonstration is expected to form at the intersection of Route 133 (Millwood Road) and Crow Hill Road, New Castle Police advise. Cuomo's residence at Bittersweet Lane is located nearby. Parking on Bittersweet Lane will be restricted during the demonstration, police said, noting intermittent lane closures will occur on Crow Hill Road, Route 133 and Bittersweet Lane.
