Reichen Lehmkuhl -- who served nine years in the Air Force, reaching Captain before he won "The Amazing Race" -- gave an impassioned speech against the military's "Don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays the other night when the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club held its annual awards ceremony at the home of former Public Advocate Mark Green. On hand were State Senators Tom Duane, Diane Savino and Daniel Squadron; Assemblymen Denny Farrell and Dick Gottfried; and Councilmembers Rosie Mendez, Danny Dromm and Dan Garodnick. Also honored was Madame, the "Hollywood Squares" puppet of the late Wayland Flowers. To a big laugh, club president Allen Roskoff said the relationship between Flowers and Madame reminded him of the bond Mayor Bloomberg has with Council Speaker Christine Quinn.
